BE A PART OF HISTORY BY SUPPORTING THIS IMPORTANT DOCUMENTARY PROJECT

An integral part of our funding plan is to approach documentary funding bodies and broadcasters for financial assistance in shooting and creating this film - and it is something we are currently pursuing. However, it is also important to us that we retain creative control of the project and we begin filming it as soon as possible.

We would like to thank all those who donated to Stage 2 of our Fundraising drive - with your support we were able to travel to the UK to film interviews with Sir Roger Bannister and Sir Chris Chataway as well as Ulick O'Connor, and travel to Vienna to interview members of the Stampfl family. We are so grateful and humbled by your support.

With your continued help we can move onto planning and booking the next leg of filming this time-critical project - interviewing all the Australian interviewees around the country, including John Landy, Ron Clarke, Ralph Doubell, Herb Elliot and Kevan Gosper, amongst many others.

Therefore, we would like to invite you to come on board as a supporter of this landmark documentary “Franz Stampfl: The Man Behind The Miracle Mile” by contributing to our ongoing funding by making a fully tax deductible donation (for Australian donors) to the Australia Cultural Fund (ACF), operated by the Australia Business Arts Foundation (AbaF), who have registered this project as being eligible to receive donations through the Fund. Australian donors who wish to go straight to our profile on the AbaF Australia Cultural Fund website and donate online, may click here.

International Donors are invited to make a donation via Paypal, using their credit card, as a grant, which is not eligible for a tax deduction, however ...

All contributions of any amount will be gratefully received and all donors will be thanked in the film's credits - acknowledged as making this project possible.

how your donations will be used

Stage 1 & 2 complete - onto Stage 3!

We would like to thank all those who donated to Stage 2 of our Fundraising drive - with your help we were able to travel to the UK to film interviews with Sir Roger Bannister and Sir Chris Chataway as well as Ulick O'Connor, and travel to Vienna to interview members of the Stampfl family. You can read about our travels and filming on the official blog here. We are so grateful and humbled by your support.

We are now moving onto the next phase of our fundraising campaign - Stage 3 - which is raising money for the second production phase - the Australian filming.

All members of the team are currently donating their time to the project to ensure we are ready to move into production when we reach our next fundraising goal of $32,000 by March 31st, 2012 - which will enable our Director, Sally McLean and DOP Tim Egan with the production team to begin in Melbourne, then travel up the East Coast of Australia to Sydney, Gold Coast, Brisbane and Adelaide to film interviews with prominent Australian sports, arts and business figures who knew Franz.

All monies raised during Stage 3 of fundraising will go towards this next phase of production, and all donations given via the AbaF and Paypal go towards these costs - no matter what the size of the contribution.

We look forward to your support.

ABOUT THE AbaF AUSTRALIA CULTURAL FUND

How does the AbaF work?

The AbaF (Australian Business Arts Foundation) is a national organisation which connects the arts, business and donors. They work with businesses large and small, arts organisations of all types, individual artists, trusts and foundations. They provide advice, professional development, volunteering and networking opportunities.

The Australia Cultural Fund (ACF) is the AbaF’s free arts donation service and was established to encourage people to donate to the arts and to enable artists, including filmmakers, to benefit from this generosity. Artists and arts organisations can register to use the service which enables their donors to make tax deductible donations to the fund.

Donations are paid in full as grants once approved by the AbaF Board. A total of more than $7 million has been donated to the arts through AbaF.

Artists and arts organisations apply to the Fund for consideration to be registered with the AbaF Australia Cultural Fund and must demonstrate they are practising artists engaged in quality cultural activities that contribute to Australia's cultural life. Once approved, they are listed on the ACF website and provided with both an online and PDF form for use to request donations for their project.

Once donations are made and then approved by the AbaF Board, the donations are made available to the recepients.

Sally McLean has been listed as an individual artist (filmmaker) for this project on the AbaF Australia Cultural Fund register. All monies raised via the AbaF Australia Cultural Fund and granted to Sally will go directly to the project.

PLEASE NOTE:
If using the downloadable form to print out and then mail in your donation to the AbaF, all donation cheques should be made out to the Australia Business Arts Foundation.

You can contact us with questions about our AbaF status via email at: info @ franzthemovie.com. You can also go to the AbaF website for more information: www.abaf.org.au/donate.
